Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI)
At Advanced Thermography of South Florida, we take a holistic
approach toward your present and future health. Using the patented and FDA
approved Meditherm
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) technology; we seek “biological markers”
and “Risk indicators” revealed in the 7 to 20-plus views in the Breast and Full
Body Scans. These procedures are
completely safe because no radiation is used to acquire the images. Thermography is non-invasive and takes approximately
30 minutes to complete, requires no physical contact or fluids to drink, and
the patterns seen are compared to standards set by Johns Hopkins University. Thermography of the breast can detect
abnormalities from 8-10 years before mammography can detect a mass.
Digital Infrared Thermal
Imaging, DITI, is a non-invasive test of physiology. It is a valuable procedure for alerting a
doctor to changes tat can indicate early stages of breast disease than has been
possible through breast self examination, doctor exam, or
mammography alone.
Women across South Florida can benefit from
DITI breast screening. However, it is
especially appropriate for younger women (30-50) whose denser breast tissue
makes it more difficult for mammography to be effective. Also for women of all ages who may have breast
implants or for many other reasons, are unable to undergo routine mammography. This test can provide a “clinical marker” to
the doctor or mammographer that a specific area of the breast needs
particularly close examination.
It takes years for a tumor
to grow, thus the earliest possible indication of abnormality is needed to allow
for the earliest possible treatment and intervention. DITI’s role in monitoring breast health is to
help in early detection and monitoring abnormal physiology. (See chart below)
